TWO men from London, aged 19 and 21, have been arrested in Bordon as part of an operation to restrict the supply of illegal drugs in Hampshire.

The men were arrested following a stop check on a vehicle in Bordon High Street on June 30, and after questioning were bailed until September 23 while enquiries continue.

A number of warrants were also carried out in the town on the same evening and a small quantity of suspected class-A drugs were seized at four addresses.

No arrests have yet been made.

The arrests and searches were part of Operation Fortress, which is a campaign involving police and other agencies to reduce drug-related violence.

One of the aims is to restrict the supply of drugs and officers are keen to hear from anyone who is concerned about illegal drugs or drug-related crime in their neighbourhood.

Things to look out for are a sudden increase in visitors to a house or flat with people only staying for a short time, short exchanges between small groups of people at, or close to, a flat or house, residents leaving a flat or house on numerous occasions throughout the day and returning a short time later, people loitering in an area and using their mobile phones frequently, and new-looking or hire cars parked outside a house or flat that would not normally be there, with the driver being a person one would not normally associate with the style of car.

Anyone who has any concerns can call the police on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
