A WRESTLER who moonlights as a stand-up comedian is hoping to have the last laugh when he steps into the ring in Haslemere next weekend.

Josh Faulkner will be one of the top grapplers when Haslemere Hall hosts an American Rumble Spectacular this Saturday (February 1).

The wrestling show presented by Premier Promotions will feature an all-in rumble in which contenders are eliminated by being thrown out over the ropes.

The last man standing is the winner with Faulkner being the man to beat at the Saturday night show.

“Faulkner is the newly-crowned Premier Wrestling Federation heavyweight champion,” said a spokesman for Premier Promotions.

“He will be fighting it out against a power-packed line-up in a bid to land the ‘King of the Ring’ crown on his Haslemere debut.”

The 24-year-old body-builder from London became the youngest ever winner of the PWF title when he defeated former European champion James Mason in a memorable bout in Worthing.

But he’s not expecting a walk to the title as there are plenty of big names standing in his way. They include Estonian giant of the ring Timo Noot, who towers over his rivals at 6ft 4in and weighs 16st.

Joshua James, a 6ft 2in fighter who tips the scales at an awesome 19st, is another wrestling leviathan with other leading contenders including Andy Boy Simmonz and the British Bruisers.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm and will include a full programme of tag-team and solo matches, are available from 01428 642161 or www.haslemerehall.com
