WHITEHILL and Bordon Regeneration Company will take part in heritage open days – the country’s largest heritage festival – next month.
Activities celebrating the heritage of the former Prince Philip Barracks will take place over three days from Friday, September 8, when there will be a talk, from 7-8pm, on the army’s history in the area.
The next day, from 11am–noon and from 2pm–3pm, there will be a tour of the former barracks and a visit to the memorial gardens.
On Sunday, September 10, between 11am and 3pm, there will be a day of Roman-themed activities that will be of particular interest to children.
Heritage Open Days brings together more than 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers.
The event was established in 1994, as England’s contribution to European Heritage Days events, and has since grown into the country’s largest heritage festival.
