A BEAUTIFUL quilt made by Sue Farley will be taking pride of place at next month’s charities fair at Haslemere Hall in aid of BLISS premature babies charity.

Haslemere Quilters Group has chosen the town’s Hunter Centre as their charity for 2018, and the quilt will be first prize in a raffle on Thursday, November 8, to help raise funds.

Other prizes are a balloon ride for two, a spa day for two at Lythe Hill Hotel and a session at Chiddingfold Golf Club for two.

The Hunter Centre, based at Marjorie Gray Hall, in Grayswood Road, was established to support those living with dementia in the town and across a wide area into East Hampshire and West Sussex.

The day care facility operates from 10am until 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Most clients have medium to high needs.

Support is on offer not just for those with one of the various types of dementia, but also for carers helping them to live at home.

On the fourth Tuesday of every month, a carer’s cafe is held at the centre from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

•Another beautiful handmade quilt will also be raffled next month to raise money for good causes including the Royal British Legion

Grayshott Stitchers and village shop Pins and Needles, have joined forces to create a poppy-themed design to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.

The quilt is now on view in the shop, where tickets can be purchased. The proceeds will be shared with a second charity to be confirmed.

The raffle will be drawn at the last performance of The Grayshott Stagers production, Oh What A Lovely War, which runs from November 15-17.
