AFTER Saturday’s near total wash-out in the I’Anson competitions, some matches were played in the new Knockout competition on Tuesday evening.

Results: Group 1 – Tilford beat Thursley by 7 wickets. Thursley 119-7 (Aamir Saeed 40). Tilford 120-3 (Matt Cook 43, Jake Austin 41).

Group 2 – Bramley lost to Blackheath by 118 runs. Blackheath 184-3 (Rob Parrott 72 not out, Mitchell O’Dwyer 51). Bramley 66-8 (Nick Hyett 20); S Mansell 3-12).

Witley lost to Farncombe by 5 wickets. Witley 88-8 (Mark White 24, Adam Keane 20). Farncombe 90-5 (Adam Appleton 41 not out).

Group 3 – Peper Harow lost to Tongham by 2 runs. Tongham 89-5 (Adam Farrier 40 not out). Peper Harow 87-8 (Matt Carrington 3-14, Tyler Carrington 3-24).

All matches in the top three divisions of the I’Anson were abandoned.

In the Division One match at the Green, Chiddingfold soon had Tilford in trouble as Chris Howell whipped out the openers. Matt Wright snapped up two victims, while Neil Garrett took a miserly 1-9 off nine overs.

At 70-6 in the 22nd over, Tilford were up against it, but then Jason Stones (28 not out) and Huw Town-Jones (29 not out) rallied their side with an unbroken stand of 66 and the home side were 136-6 in the 38th over when rain ended play.

In Division Four, Puttenham II managed to squeeze in a victory against Grayshott III, while Wrecclesham beat Frimley III.
