Badshot Lea Ladies sealed the Southern Region Women’s Football League Division One South title on Sunday with a 4-1 win at nearest challengers Stoneham Ladies.

The Baggies fell 1-0 behind early on, but soon equalised through Lucy Cook. Nicola Moore then scored to give the visitors a 2-1 lead at half-time. Cook scored her second of the afternoon to make it 3-1, before Emma Gregory-Barnes completed the scoring.

Manager Jamie Norris is full of praise for his side’s efforts.

“It was our best result of the season and a great way to win the league,” he said.

“We conceded early on, but that actually settled us down and then we played better.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who came to support us – we are always grateful for the support.”
